Now in its 3rd generation, the Carbon Series LED driving lights represent years of continued development and testing at the very highest levels of professional rally, track, and off-road motorsport. The re-design and re-engineering of the products delivers more light, less weight, greater functionality, and ease of fitment.
With a weight of just 0.45lbs, the Carbon-2 (Gen3) comes with the option for either a ‘Spot’ or ‘Drive’ beam pattern. The Spot version delivers 1 lux to 454m (per lamp) with a 32 degree left/right spread. By contrast the Drive version provides a wider left/right spread of light equivalent to 60 degrees with the compromise being that the 1 lux line reaches measures at 265m. As well as operating in ‘High Beam’ mode, the lights can also easily switch to a ‘Dip / Low Beam’ mode during operation, a function shared with other lamps in the Carbon Series range. In the Dip / Low Beam mode, the beam pattern drops by around 4 degrees, giving the driver an option to reduce glare in case of road signs during a rally stage, or in case of dust or fog in case of difficult race/road conditions.
Incorporating 12 premium ‘bin’ LEDs per lamp – 6 LEDs dedicated to the ‘High Beam’ function, and 6 LEDs to the ‘Dip / Low Beam’, each Carbon-2 emits 3,120 raw lumens (regardless of the mode being used). Advanced electronic design, coupled with vacuum-metallized optics which harness the maximum amount of light, deliver more light to the road or track ahead where it’s needed. A CAE-optimized heatsink dissipates heat away from the lamp to maximize light output for longer, while Dynamic Drive Modulation regulates the light output to prevent damage to the electronic components in more extreme environmental and thermal conditions.
To facilitate mounting of the lights to a variety of vehicles, the Carbon-2 lamps come with the option for front-fixing or side-mounting. Please check the product imagery for more details, alternatively basic CAD model data is available on request if more analysis of each mounting option is required before purchase. In case of “Front Fix”, the lamp comes with the necessary springs and hardware to assemble the lamp into a cutout on the vehicle, and it enables the driver to incrementally change the angle of the lamps without needing to remove the lamp from the aperture. In case of “Side Fix” the lamps come pre-fitted with brass inserts, but the customer should purchase one of our mounting bracket solutions, depending on the installation requirements (i.e. 1117K).
A range of lens covers is also available, including both yellow lenses in case of difficult driving conditions / snow, and black lens covers for daytime protection.
Please note: Our 'Front Fix' Carbon lamps are available by special order only. Please contact us for more information.
