The latest generation of Carbon-2 LED driving lights represents years of relentless development and real-world testing at the highest levels of professional rally, track, and off-road motorsport. The re-design and re-engineering of the products delivers more light, less weight, and expanded functionality. Now with the added benefit of DOT/SAE compliance, it makes the Carbon-2 a superior choice for both motorsport and on-road use. Available in SPOT or DRIVE beam patterns, each light offers three operating modes:

  • HIGH BEAM - BOOST MODE (100% output)
  • DIP BEAM (100% output, aimed lower with yellow LED's)
  • HIGH BEAM - REDUCED OUTPUT (28% output)

 

The lamps also features an integrated white and amber backlight function. The customer can select the colour of backlight at any time after the lamp is in installed on a vehicle, by flashing the back-light on/off a pre-set number of times. The customer may switch back to the other back-light colour by repeating the sequence of on/off flashing on this function. The backlight function is also not DOT/SAE Compliant on either light, and should be used off-road and/or where local laws allow.

Operating in the High Beam – Boost Mode, the Carbon-2 DRIVE is compliant with DOT/SAE standards, for on-road high beam use. The high-intensity beam pattern of the Carbon-2 SPOT sits beyond the DOT/SAE standard limit, and is delivered in this high output condition. To operate the Carbon-2 SPOT in Low ouptut mode (DOT/SAE compliant - 28% light output), the customer can ‘program’ the light by flashing the lights off/on a set number of times prior to use. A similar sequence can be used to re-activate high output / boost mode when the lamp is to be used off-road or in countries where the laws of the road permit light output above DOT/SAE Standards. On the Carbon-2 SPOT the Dip/Low beam mode is not DOT/SAE Compliant, however on the Carbon-2 DRIVE the Dip/Low beam mode is compliant with DOT/SAE, Fog Light standards.

The lamp housing is constructed from high-strength and heat-resistant PC-ABS material. Thermal control of the lamp is managed through a CAE-optimised anodised aluminium element, meticulously engineered to maintain full and optimal lighting performance of the LEDs. The result are products weighing just 0.42lbs each. Dynamic drive modulation within the lamps, prevents damage to the electronic components in more extreme environmental and thermal conditions.

As with all Triple-R products, the Carbon-2 lamps have been designed, engineered, and are manufactured in-house, in the UK. There is no compromise in regards component parts, or build processes to achieve a superior product. Additional to the lamps themselves, a range of lens covers is also available, including black and white lens covers for daytime protection.
